Three different lighting photos

My nieces came back with party favors from a birthday party so I decided to take pictures of the scraps that were left all over the house. The first  photo is taken with the flash, and also backlight from the computer. The second photo is taken with light from a lamp. The last  photo was taken near a window with the evening light coming through.

  1. This is one of those instances where I don't feel like natural light is doing the picture justice. These ribbons feel so bland and sad in the natural lighting picture. By contrast, the first picture, which used both a flash and the lighting from the computer monitor is so vibrant and crisp. The colors really pop in this lighting, and seem to tell a story. I can envision these bits of ribbon having fallen onto the keyboard, like streamers during the countdown at a new year's party. Nicely done.

  2. By far I like the first photo of the ribbons that was taken with the flash. The lighting in the other photos lack something, but with the flash - everything pops.

  4. I like the idea of the ribbon. But I have to say I really like the first photo the best. I like the lighting and the bright colors of the ribbon on a keyboard. Vary interesting and I doubt I'll ever see a photo like that again! The other ones are boring compared to the first, but you job on showing the different light sources!

  5. I have to agree with Thea I really like the first one shows the color of the ribbons nicely with the black keyboard and looked like the light was perfect. I like your other two pictures as well, but I do think if you would have adjusted the exposure on the camera they would have popped out even more.

  6. The first photo is really nice! Whatever lighting you used really brought those ribbons to life. =)
